4 All Natural Air Fresheners | Butter NutritionChances are you or someone you know owns one of those tree shaped air fresheners or some sort of wall plugin unit to help keep their home or car smelling nice. While no-one enjoys unpleasant household odors, there are no "SAFE" commercial air fresheners! Come learn WHY and what you can use instead!

According to the Environmental Working Group, "A few companies provide ingredient lists on their website in response to consumer demand, but the word "fragrance" may hide dozens of chemicals, many of which may never have been assessed for safety." If you don't have control over knowing what's in a product, that's a huge red flag that you don't want it in your home or car for that matter!

Additionally, according to the EPA, Air Fresheners commonly contain formaldehyde, petroleum distillates, p- dichlorobenzene, and aerosol propellants. These chemicals are strong irritants to eyes, skin, and throat, and can even cause death if eaten by pets or people! So ditch your Febreze spray, chemically scented candles, car air fresheners and Glade plugins without batting an eyelash!

But don't worry-- your house can smell yummy with the replacement suggestions below!

Use an essential oils home diffuser that comes in the 'Premium Starter Kit' for scenting the home or dispelling household odors in a natural way! <--- this is my personal favorite!

2) Car Diffuser

Do you have one of those toxic tree-shaped air fresheners hanging in your car? You'll never actually KNOW the ingredients in them because the company Car-Freshener deems it as "propriety information" a legal loophole that keeps in the dark about what chemicals you are breathing in! You'll never need one again after you get hooked on this car diffuser (like this)! Just place 1-2 drops of your favorite essential oil on the diffuser pad and plug into your car!

All you need is:

  • Diffusing vessel
  • 6-10 reed sticks (like this)
  • Carrier oil, like fractionated coconut oil or sweet almond oil
  • About 20 drops of high quality essential oil (I use lavender for my bedroom, and I love Stress Away or Valor for my office).

Just fill the vessel with 3-5tb of carrier oil and 20ish drops of essential oil. Add reed sticks, stir to combine and flip the sticks 2 times the first day (allowing time in between flips for the oil to move down the sticks), and once every few days after!

4) Air Freshener Spray

Add about 20-40 drops of your favorite essential oil to a spray bottle for an instant freshening spray for laundry or household odors. I love using Purification essential oil for trash bins, laundry and shoes!

I love what you say about food, but I pause when you talk about essential oils. They mess up our hormones and decrease our immunity by killing gut bacteria. They are made from the volitile oil in plants. Called volitile for a reason.

They are very dangerous and we have to spread the word. Also not very environmentally conscious. We don't need smells. Try removing smells without adding new ones like our ancestors did with vinegar and baking soda.
